Understanding The Uses Of Stainless Steel Valves In Industrial Processes

Industrial processes happen around you every day. When you turn on the tap at home, you are using an industrial water system. You go fuel up your vehicle at the gas station, you have been a key element in an industrial process. Even if you go to the grocery store, you probably get a product that was a part of an industrial process during manufacturing. Stainless steel valves are an important part of pretty much every industrial process. Here is a look at just a few of the industrial situations where stainless steel valves would be put to good use.

Stainless steel valves are used in the oil and gas industry.

Since stainless steel is not corrosive, stands up to chemical compounds, and is also inexpensive to produce, stainless steel ball valves in the oil industry make good sense. These ball valves can be used in a small form on oil and fuel distribution lines, but they can also be massively sized and fitted to large oil or gas pipelines. If you were to examine a gas pump system closely enough as a technician, you would see a stainless steel valve or two. On the same note, someone working in an oilfield would probably operate a stainless steel valve of some sort several times per day.

Stainless steel valves are used in water distribution industries.

From public water supply systems to seawater harvesting operations, all of these industries will rely on stainless steel valves for different processes. There may be valves on water intake and delivery lines, on overflow lines, and at various other points of system setups. With fluid distribution, being able to stop and allow the flow of that fluid is highly important, and stainless steel valves are heavily relied on for the task because of their reliability.

Stainless steel valves are used in the production of wine and spirits.

The liquid that is produced from mash when making wine or spirits is highly corrosive because of its naturally occurring chemical compounds during the aging process. When wine and spirits are placed in barrels or containers to age, the valves that are placed on these containers must be highly resilient to the chemical compounds. Therefore, stainless steel valves are an excellent fit for the purpose. You will find these valves situated on the bottom of wine and whiskey barrels no matter which winery or distillery you may visit.

About Me
Keeping Your Equipment In Top Condition

After dealing with malfunctioning equipment for a few months, I sat down with our accounting team and started exploring the possibility of upgrading all of our equipment. We went through the books and started trying to piece together a little money for some new supplies, and we worked hard to make it happen. After we finally replaced out equipment, we worked to keep it in top condition. We followed the manufacturer's recommendations for care, and we only hired professionals to service the machinery. This blog is all about keeping your equipment in top condition so that you can reduce your costs.
