Your car is one of your biggest investments. You want to make sure you take proper care of it. Part of the care involves keeping it clean. If you're just using a bucket of soapy water, a sponge, and a bathroom towel, you're short-changing your car. Here are four steps you can take to provide professional detailing for your car.

Start with the Right Cleaning Chemicals

When it comes to taking care of your car, you need to start with the right cleaning chemicals. Ordinary dish soap or laundry soap can destroy your car's paint and leave a dull residue on the surface. To get your car to its cleanest, and protect the paint, you should be using premium cleaning chemicals that are designed specifically for automotive use. Automotive cleaning chemicals - including detergents, de-greasers, and tire dressings - will leave your car clean and protected.

Switch to Two Buckets

If you're just using one bucket to wash your car, you're just moving dirt from one spot to the other. Each time you place your sponge in the water, you're rinsing it in the same water you're using to wash your car. You can avoid dirt transference by using two buckets. Fill one bucket with rinse water and one bucket with sudsy wash water. Dip your sponge in the sudsy water to wash the car. When you're ready for more suds, dip the sponge into the rinse bucket to remove the dirt before dipping it into the wash bucket. This will ensure that you start with a clean sponge every time.

Choose Microfiber

When it comes to washing and drying your car, you'll get the best results with microfiber towels. Ordinary household towels can scratch the paint and leave towel fibers all over the surface of your car. Microfiber towels won't scratch your car and they won't leave the unsightly towel fibers, either.

Keep a Plastic Bag on Hand

There's nothing worse than spending time cleaning your car, only to find places that you missed after you put all your cleaning supplies away. You can avoid that with a simple plastic bag. Place a small plastic grocery bag on your hand and run it along the surface of your car. The plastic bag will allow you to feel the dirt that you missed so that you can go back and detail that spot again.

You want your car to look its best. You can get professional results by using the tips provided here.

About Me
Keeping Your Equipment In Top Condition

After dealing with malfunctioning equipment for a few months, I sat down with our accounting team and started exploring the possibility of upgrading all of our equipment. We went through the books and started trying to piece together a little money for some new supplies, and we worked hard to make it happen. After we finally replaced out equipment, we worked to keep it in top condition. We followed the manufacturer's recommendations for care, and we only hired professionals to service the machinery. This blog is all about keeping your equipment in top condition so that you can reduce your costs.
